The trade restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic
compelled us to get our hands dirty and plant our own feet
on the ground.
We travelled to East Africa for what was supposed to be
just a three-month trip. But, three months turned into
three years when we found the most conducive environment
to export fresh produce from Tanzania, and so it began.
ln August 2021, Akida Group was established and the first
shipment of avocados was made in October 2021. The rest,
as they say, is history.

• You will be helping over 7000 farmers in our farmer groups and outgrown schemes become more income-secure and less vulnerable to poverty.
• You will be helping improve access to agricultural services like organic training and premium markets for our farmer groups.

Mr. Mkazeni Elangwa Msherwa and his other co-farmers said the once dowtrooden ginger crop has been helping their families see the light at the end of the tunnel as the families earn millions of shillings from the crop in the maiden consignment sale.
“This window is not just a one-off purchase but a lifetime commitment.” he explained. He urged the local farmers up their game to produce high quality and large volumes of ginger to satisfy our supply chain.
Although it is newly registered, Akida Group Ltd intends to leverage experiences from its existing business ties with Latin America, Western Europe, and West Africa through its parent company based in Dnipro, Ukraine – THE CITIZEN, 2021
